Goddesses Share Their Secrets.

What is success to you?
Being as self sustainable as possible while living within my integrity. Gathering and growing my food. Placing myself in the way of beauty every day. Celebrating small victories, like reaching the top of a peak or creating a beautiful meal or work of art for those I love. Serving in a meaningful way that expresses my unique medicine.

What is magic for you?
The natural world is flooded with magic at every moment. When I tap into that, it's so easy to see that magic is the essence of life. It's when I'm struggling and I step outside for some clarity..and a sandhill crane flies overhead, dropping a feather at my feet. It's seeing four foxes in one week. It's noticing a leaf flicker wildly without a trace of wind. Feeling energy rush up your body when making love. Making eye contact with a coyote and feeling the oneness of that moment.

What is love for you?
Love is the one and only absolute truth. It is the one force worth risking it all for. Love is a constant journey of opening deeper and deeper, having our shadows and light reflected back onto us.

What is your beauty/health practice?
A strong relationship with my ecosystem is the most important thing. Eating foods and medicines I harvest from my landscape, drinking the wild water, soaking in the hot springs, absorbing the sun, sweating, playing in the mountains...incorporating every element is vital to my health. The healthier and more grounded I feel, the more beautiful I feel. Minimal, pure body products is also a must.

What makes your spirit glow?
Ahh....so much! Great sex, deep conversations, alone time in nature, animals, drawing. And one of my top favorites: LAUGHTER! I absolutely adore the sarcastic, slightly cynical, hilarious people in my life. I have a pretty raunchy sense of humor, and meeting others who feed that part of me is so nourishing.

How do you stay centered in the middle of chaos?
I often call upon the bird of prey archetypes, specifically the red tailed hawk. To see the situation from a higher, objective perspective. To see the impermanence of it all and to trust that I am never given anything I can't handle. Or- I just freak the fuck out and feel it all so deeply in the moment that it's no longer a big deal a few hours later. Depends on the day ;)

What causes/organizations are you passionate about?
Animals. Ever since I was a little girl, I've LOVED animals. This may seem ironic, since I do support conscious hunting practices, but it all comes full circle with the protection of their ecosystems and population health and boycotting factory farming. Since moving to Montana, I've grown to deeply respect the work of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. I also love the work of Farm Sanctuary, High Caliber Horse Rescue, United Plant Savers, and (a place I volunteered for years) Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care.

If you could say one thing to the world, what would you say?
Have compassion.

How do you mother the world?
I seek opportunities to serve in meaningful ways, and a lot of the time I find that means creating medicines from my ecosystem and giving them away to those in need. I also see the gifts freely given to me by the Earth- the ultimate mother- and give abundant thanks so that she may feel nurtured as well.
